SCOTT RATHBUN
PRESIDENT

Scott Rathbun took the reins as President of AA&C in 2021, and has specialized in the valuation and evaluation of apartments since joining the firm in 2014. is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado. He is often consulted about trends in the industry and speaks about the various apartment markets in Colorado at real estate conferences and other events. He has also authored numerous articles and is quoted as an industry expert in local news media. He is a Practicing Affiliate of the Appraisal Institute. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA from the University of Denver. Prior to joining AA&C, Scott spent nearly ten years in the area of forensic accounting, where he specialized in litigation support and business valuation. 

Cary Bruteig founded AA&C in 1992, building on 7 years of prior experience in the valuation of a wide variety of property types, from regional malls to office buildings. He earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado (now non-practicing), and is a member of the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and the National Apartment Association. Prior to semi-retirement he was asked to speak about the apartment market and trends in the industry. He continues to consult with AA&C and currently acts as the company's review appraiser. Cary holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Wyoming.

Cary W. Bruteig, MAI Principal  Cary Bruteig has specialized exclusively in the valuation of apartments since 1992, building on 7 years of prior experience in the valuation of a wide variety of property types, from regional malls to office buildings. He has appraised over 400,000 apartment units in 2,000 assignments with a combined value in excess of $25 billion. He has earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado, and is a member of the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and the National Apartment Association.

Stephen Cole has experience as both an architect and a commercial real estate appraiser. He has designed and appraised a wide variety of residential, office, retail, industrial, and institutional property types and has emphasized multifamily residential work in both professions. He has been appraising since 1988, holds the MAI designation, is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado, and holds an MBA from the University of Denver.

Louesa Maricle has experience in the valuation of a wide variety of commercial real estate including multifamily, office, industrial, retail, and agricultural properties. She has been appraising since 1987, holds the MAI designation, is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in Colorado, and has a Masters of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. She has been exclusively appraising analyzing proposed and existing apartment communities since 1997.
